General Statement
Photography is able to capture the subtle changes that occur in milliseconds. In these small moments the photo changes. The feeling and message are conveyed through the degree of light, blur, focus, color, and subject matter. When one of these aspects is altered the photo becomes something completely different. This is the quality of photography that I am drawn to. As I find or make the scene of my next photograph I consider how each moving element interact. Through this process, I am paying attention to little details while learning the importance of each factor. My practice with photography creates a space for fluidity, play, and exploration. I am curious about the intensity of how slight changes can alter the interpretation of an image. Photography holds the power to find these pieces of ourselves, culture, people, or nature that the natural eye did not pick up on or see.
