General Statement

I am fascinated with the concept of connection. How people connect to one another, to nature, to society, everything that we're drawn to. When making photos, I focus on how forms relate to each other and how they interact. In my work, I ask myself “why”. “Why am I attracted to this? Why is this interesting? Why is this important?”. If there is no final answer then I need to keep thinking. In that, I will NEVER stop the “why”. The “why” leads to the reason, and back again. This is WHY the concept of connection needs to be investigated.

Self-Portrait Statemen

Investigating the power, influence, and emotional response the female body has on the viewer is fascinating to me. Through my self-portraits, I am redefining and re-discovering how I see my own body. I am relearning what my body means to me. Society plays a big role in how people perceive what the female body is, it is sexualized and objectified, I am not denying this, rather I am investigating how to reclaim our bodies as females.  I want to challenge the viewers on how they see the female body and have them question why they see it that way.
